Brink’s Canada Celebrates its 80th Anniversary
Our proud history continues as Brink’s Canada celebrates 80 years of service to the Canadian marketplace.
In 2007, Brink's Incorporated celebrates the 80th Anniversary of its introduction of armoured car services to Canada.
The Brink's Express Company of Canada opened its doors in Montreal on July 21st, 1927. This marked the first international expansion for the parent company. A second Canadian location opened in Toronto in 1928 and, by the early 1930s, rapid growth led to 17 branches across the country. Today, over 45 Brink's Canada locations are affiliated with more than 200 branches in the U.S., with similar operations in over 50 countries worldwide.
From delivery by horse and wagon on the streets of Chicago in 1859, to our current global air courier and armoured truck services, Brink's has used technology to grow with the needs of our customers.
For the past 80 years, Brink's Canada has been about protecting our people, our customers' assets and providing outstanding service. This legacy is reflected in the name Brink's. It means trust.
Brink’s Canada Opens the Largest Armoured Car Facility in North America
In May 2007, Brink’s Canada announces the grand opening of a new Toronto facility.
The 100,000-square-foot facility will boast state-of-the-art technology platforms and enhancements. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the facility will offer varied client services such as expanded secured vault space, services for disaster recovery, contingency back-up sites and off-site secured storage, cash logistics operations, armoured and ABM Solutions, as well as industry-leading employee training facilities.
Best in Class Award - Royal Canadian Mint Recognition
In 2006 Brink's Canada was recognized, for the second year in a row, as being "Best In Class”. The Award for Excellence and High Quality in Goods and Services received from the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM), celebrated our performance for 2005 as the number one service provider of all of their transportation companies, which included armoured, common carriers, freight forwarders and couriers.
Special attention was paid to Brink’s Canada for our consistent and dependable service, our excellent security record, our ability to seamlessly integrate with their supply chain, our professional Account Management and our desire to continually work with the RCM to improve their process.
Quality is the result of Brink’s Canada’s well defined and executed processes, strong measurements, creativity and flexibility. Perhaps, most importantly, quality comes alive when you have heart and you care! Having a passion to service the customer is something our team does well and it is pleasing when the marketplace recognizes such efforts.
The Katie Fund
The employees of Halifax branch established The Katie Fund in response to their colleague Paula’s 8-year old daughter’s illness. In February, Katie underwent major surgery. Our hearts and thoughts were with Paula and her family during this difficult time. At the recent sales awards presentations at the National Meeting, the Sales Executives at Brink’s Canada donated all their monetary awards to the Katie Fund.
